I’m Brit, Ottawa born and raised. I’m on my third career path, and the one I’m sticking with. In my first life I was a barn manager and catered to horses and their riders, was a competitive rider and professional braider. In my second life I went to school for law, snore! My third life lead me to my passion, working with animals. I became an RVT in 2011 and have worked in just about every area of Veterinary Medicine since, including being trained to operate MRI and CT machines. I love surgery and anesthesia (many years spent in neuro surgery and orthopedics) and am also passionate about working with clients and their pets one on one in general practice as well as helping pets with their rehabilitation exercises.
In my free time I am owned by my SPCA adopted cat, Dylan and my rescue Hound mix, Random Lee whom I share with my dad as she is the only “grandchild” I gave my parents. Both my pets love spending their time at my cottage, just as I do, though Random and I are fans of the lake and boat. Dylan on the other hand, prefers the screened in porch and his custom made catio. I hope to buy another horse in the near future and perhaps compete again but for now my focus is my career, my pets and finishing my tattoo sleeve that commemorates all the dogs in my life and their, and my, happy place; my cottage.
