Let’s take a peek under the ‘hood’

Essential for guiding treatment

Since pets can’t tell us what’s wrong, our pet diagnostic testing in Ottawa helps uncover hidden health issues. Our mobile vet service offers at-home pet bloodwork in Ottawa, urine and fecal testing for pets, biopsy, and cytology testing, ensuring accurate diagnoses. Some veterinary diagnostics can even be performed at home during your appointment, providing a stress-free, convenient experience for both you and your pet.

Bloodwork

Pet bloodwork is essential for diagnosing and assessing health concerns, especially when symptoms are vague. Cat bloodwork and dog bloodwork help evaluate organ function, detect infections, monitor chronic conditions, and identify underlying diseases. These veterinary blood tests provide critical insights that guide treatment plans or indicate the need for further diagnostic testing, ensuring your pet receives the best possible care.

Urine and fecal tests

Urine and fecal testing for pets is essential for both wellness maintenance and diagnosing illnesses. The waste your pet expels provides valuable insights into digestive health, infections, parasites, and organ function. These tests can detect early signs of disease and help guide further veterinary diagnostics and treatment, ensuring your pet stays healthy and happy.

Cytology

Pet cytology testing examines cells and bacteria under a microscope to detect hidden health issues. It’s commonly used for diagnosing ear infections, skin infections, and identifying lumps or masses on your pet’s body. This powerful veterinary diagnostic tool helps uncover underlying conditions that may not be visible to the naked eye, guiding the best course of treatment.

Cultures and Sensitivity Tests

For persistent pet infections, sending samples to a veterinary lab culture helps identify the exact bacteria present. This allows for precise treatment using the appropriate pet vaccine or medication, avoiding unnecessary antibiotics. Understanding what’s growing ensures a more effective approach to managing your pet’s health.

Frequently
Asked Questions

A mobile clinic comes to your home to treat your pet instead of you bringing them to a clinic! Mobile clinics typically operate in one of two ways: in- home, or a mobile vet clinic truck/ van. The 100x Mobile Vet operates entirely in client’s homes to optimize the comfort of our patients. We find that pets do best when they can be examined and treated directly within their space, with no outside factors such as other patients, clients or even scents from strange pets stressing them out.
Yes! All of our vets are Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and are fully licensed to practice medicine in Ontario.
We accept debit, all major credit cards, AMEX, cash, and e-transfer. We do not accept payment plans at this time- all invoices need to be paid in full at the time of service.
A range map can be found on our website for each location, showing our regular range of service. If you are located outside of that range, don’t fret! We still come out to you, just for an additional fee. Give us a call for a quote for your area! *Please note- we are only licensed in Ontario and cannot practice in Quebec.

Nothing! We don’t require any special preparations for the team to come in- we can work wherever you and your pet(s) are most comfortable. And don’t worry about the stack of dirty dishes in the sink- we don’t judge!!

The team coming to your home carries a small pharmacy with them to be able to dispense medications at the appointment. If we don’t have it on us we will order it in. If you require a refill or a medication outside of an appointment, simply email in or fill out the medication refill page on our website, and allow our staff 24 hours to get back to you. We do ask that you give us a week heads up for refills as we occasionally need to order the medication in, which can take a few days. Medication can be picked up, or we can arrange delivery to your home for $25.
We can accomplish minor surgeries in home- ones that do not require a fully sterile environment or full anesthesia. Procedures such as small lump removal, laceration repair and biopsy are just some examples of surgeries our teams have taken on in-home. Procedures such as spay/ neuter, dentals or amputation we do refer to trusted partner clinics that have the appropriate facilities available. We also need to refer out for x-ray and ultrasound, but are very happy to facilitate that referral for you to make sure that process is quick and smooth, and that your pet receives the care they require.

The cost of an in-home pet visit is $279.90. This service ensures your pet receives personalized and attentive care in the comfort of your home, eliminating the stress associated with travel.
